District 11 Newsletter November

It's been an eventful month for the McDowell County Democratic Party, filled with successful endeavors and exciting developments. Let's recap!

First and foremost, we want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Billy Martin and Don Ramsey, who ran for the Marion City Council. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our dedicated volunteers, we were able to make over 1200 phone calls to support their campaigns. Despite a low voter turnout of approximately 350 people, both Billy and Don emerged victorious and were reelected. Their brief speeches at our October monthly meeting were inspiring, and we couldn't be prouder of their accomplishments.

Speaking of our monthly meeting, we were honored to have Rep. Wesley Harris, NC House 105, and prominent figure in North Carolina politics, as our keynote speaker. Wesley, who is running for North Carolina State Treasurer in 2024, delivered a captivating presentation that left us all feeling motivated and hopeful for the future.

In addition to our political endeavors, we also organized a raffle fundraiser to support our party's activities. The prize, a $100 gift certificate to the renowned Blanton House restaurant, was generously donated by Harriet and Tommy Rockett, two of our most generous Democrats. We're thrilled to announce that we raised almost $900 from this raffle, which will go a long way in supporting our future initiatives.
Harriet did the honor of drawing the winning entry.

As always, we want to express our gratitude to our faithful base of followers for their unwavering support and dedication.

Marty Elliott, Chair
